Acts 2:38:
Then [on the day of Pentecost] Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost [the gift from the Holy Spirit, God].
After the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, when the day of Pentecost had fully come, God sent His gift of holy spirit, and it became available for men and women to be born again, to be God’s sons and daughters by spiritual seed.
I Peter 1:23:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
I John 3:1:
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God....
Being born again as a child of God is what gives us spiritual life. This new birth gives us spiritual rights, privileges, and benefits. We can claim every one of these given to us by our heavenly Father through the accomplishments of Jesus Christ. Everything that God is in Christ is in us when we are born again. We become spiritually sufficient in the new birth.
Let’s look at some of what God has done for us and in us through the accomplishments of Jesus Christ:
According to the Word of God, we were crucified with him.
Galatians 2:20:
I am [was] crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
According to the Word of God, we were buried with him and are risen with him.
Colossians 2:12:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
According to the Word of God, we are seated in the heavenlies with him.
Ephesians 2:6:
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
According to the Word of God, we were redeemed by him.
I Peter 1:18,19:
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
According to the Word of God, we were reconciled to God by him.
II Corinthians 5:18:
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
According to the Word of God, we were justified by him.
Romans 3:24:
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
According to the Word of God, we were made righteous by him.
Romans 5:16-18:
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
According to the Word of God, we were sanctified by him.
I Corinthians 6:11:
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
According to the Word of God, we have eternal life in him.
I John 5:11:
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Romans 8:33 asks the question, “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of [or, who shall bring an accusation against] God’s elect?” It then states, “It is God that justifieth.” This statement should be more properly read as an additional question: “God that justifieth?” Is God Almighty Who justified us now going to bring an accusation against us? No!
God justified us; He will not bring an accusation against us.
God redeemed us; He will not disinherit us.
God reconciled us to Himself; He will not separate us from Himself.
God made us righteous; He will not condemn us.
God sanctified us; He has no wrath awaiting us in heaven.
God gave us eternal life; He will not take it away.
Being born again as a child of God gives us spiritual life with rights, privileges, and benefits. We can claim every one of these given to us by our heavenly Father. Because of Pentecost, we can claim spiritual sufficiency.
