God Wants Us to Be Free

God Wants Us to Be Free

It is absolutely God’s will that we are freed from every prison or fetter which encases and binds. Prisons are not only made of bars of steel. Many times, we have mental prisons that we need release from. How do we break free and experience God’s will for our lives? God’s Word gives us the key to release. God wants us to have total release from all negatives in our mind. In order to receive this release in our lives, we must believe the Word of God and continue in it. Jesus Christ spoke these words to those Judeans who believed on him in his day and time.

John 8:31,32,36:
Then said Jesus to those Jews [Judeans] which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Jesus told them that as they continued in his word, they were his disciples indeed. A disciple is one who follows the teacher and the teaching. In our day and time, when Jesus Christ is no longer on earth, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ is one disciplined to the Word concerning him.

As we born-again believers continue in the Word, we too can claim the benefits of verse 32. We will absolutely know the truth and it will absolutely make us free, which includes making us free from any mental prison or negative thoughts.

The Devil, our adversary, will try to keep us from the freedom that God desires for us by getting us to focus on the negatives in our life. But in God’s Word we learn of God’s ability to help us overcome the adversary through what Jesus Christ accomplished for us.

Romans 8:33-35,37:
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

As we continue in God’s Word, we will know the truth of how His Son, Jesus Christ, made us free spiritually. And we can manifest this freedom in our lives. This is a powerful truth! In order to break free of our mental prisons and live in that freedom that God has made available, we must believe that this is what God wants for us. Believing God’s Word and the truths about His Son allows us to be free from whatever may hinder us in life.

God wants us to be free indeed—not just half-free, but wholly free persons. He has lovingly provided a way by which those who believe His Word might be released from every mental prison and every negative thought which keeps them from enjoying this freedom. Being convinced of this, we can believe positively in life, knowing our release will absolutely follow.

God wants us to be free. As we believe and continue in the Word of God, the truth, and come to know God’s Son, we will be free indeed. Learning and knowing that we have freedom available from our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ, we can claim that freedom daily, overcoming the adversary.
