Living Joyfully: With God We Have No Lack

Living Joyfully: With God We Have No Lack

Joyful living is ours to claim as sons of God. We can live joy-filled lives when we maintain our focus on God as our sufficiency, rather than on what we are seemingly lacking. We confess God as our sufficiency, not ourselves. We can see from God’s Word that it is the absolute will of God for us to enjoy a life of abundance and joy.

Ephesians 3:20:
Now unto him [God] that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

In The Bible Tells Me So, Victor Paul Wierwille poses the question, “How much are we allowing God to work in us?” He goes on to say, “That is the paramount question. It is not a question of God’s willingness or ability. It is simply a question of allowing the limitlessness of God to live in us and work in us….” God is able to do exceeding abundantly above our own expectations. God knows our heart and our need. As we trust in this great promise of God, we will manifest a joy-filled life.

II Corinthians 9:8:
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

We have all sufficiency in all things because of God’s abundant supply of goodness. For us to abound to every good work, we stay our minds on, focus on, the promises in the Word that remind us of His willingness and desire to supply our need. All of our need can and shall be supplied as we allow our hearts to trust in God and recognize Him as our sufficiency and source of prosperity.

II Corinthians 3:5:
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.

Confessing lack or confessing that we are our own sufficiency does not produce joyful living. We confess the Word and claim God’s sufficiency—not our own. When we are tempted to think or confess that we are lacking, we can simply redirect our thoughts to God and His Word where we are exhorted to confess or speak of His goodness.

Psalms 107:8:
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalms 35:27:
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

We are to say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified”! As sons of God, we can confess that we have NO lack and go to our heavenly Father as our sufficiency. Then we put ourselves in a very favorable mind-set to live joyfully.

Psalms 34:1:
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

When we confess that God is our sufficiency and praise Him, we are not confessing or thinking lack, but rather, we are speaking joy into our lives.

A joy-filled life is ours to claim as we maintain our focus on God as our sufficiency. Let’s continue to believe and confess God as our sufficiency, claiming His great promises of an abundant and joy-filled life. With God we have no lack.
