Living My Life’s Dream in Service

Living My Life’s Dream in Service

After pursuing a career in the performing arts, I knew that my heart’s desire would not be completely fulfilled until I trusted God with my all. I wanted to make a difference, and after taking The Way Ministry’s Foundational Class, I realized that serving God was how to do it.

Psalms 37:3-7 is a section of Scripture that promises success and inspired me to make the choice to serve God. It seems so obvious now, but making that choice and changing the direction of my life was not easy. I had been trained from a very young age to discipline my life as a dancer and later in theater. I was single-minded in that pursuit.

Psalms 37:3 states, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.” I trusted God to make the right decision and got busy.

Psalms 37:4:
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Serving God with my husband as a home fellowship coordinator, then serving in the ministry’s outreach program, and finally serving as a Way Corps minister brought me to a place where I could enjoy doing what I love. Keeping God first opened doors to living my life’s dream! Utilizing my professional training while serving at The Way International Headquarters was one of many ways that God met my need and brought the desires of my heart to pass. God is the Searcher of hearts.

Psalms 37:5-7:
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring
it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

As I continue to trust God and the integrity of His Word, I am abounding in peace and confidence. God continues to meet my need in body, soul, and spirit. Today I am thankful and blessed to continue to serve in the ministry alongside my husband. I am thrilled to be able to work in my professional field, teaching ballet to children and adults in an established academy in my city and teaching ballroom dance to students in the local school system.

Serving God has helped me see and understand what it truly means to have a more abundant life. Trusting God, delighting in His ways, and committing to do the works of Jesus Christ puts me in a position to make a difference.
