Our Power of Attorney

Our Power of Attorney

There are many great names of people in history; great names of people in our present day; great names of people who represent wealth, position, fame. But God has decreed His Son’s name—the name of Jesus Christ—to be supreme above all names. It is in his name that true power resides.

God gave Jesus Christ a name above every name, and God has given His people the authority to use this name to truly get powerful results in life. The name of Jesus Christ is not a “magical” name that is to be said mindlessly or without cause, but when we say it with believing, we are using real, godly, spiritual power that we have been given in our power of attorney. We can live powerfully by understanding our power of attorney and using the name of Jesus Christ in our day-to-day living.

The power of attorney is the legal right to use the name of the person who has given you the power. God has invested power in the name of Jesus Christ, and He has given us the legal right to use that name whenever and wherever needed.

Ephesians 1:18-23:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Because of Jesus Christ’s authority and victory over spiritual darkness, there is power—the ability to make things happen—in his name. And it is in the name of Jesus Christ that we are able to do the works that he did and greater.

John 14:12-14:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Bringing deliverance, healing the sick, commanding God’s power over the spirit realm—these are the works that Jesus did. These are the same works that we can do today because of our power of attorney, whereby God has given us the authority to use the power in the name of Jesus Christ. We can use the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers, thoughts, and actions and get powerful results. When we pray for people in the name of Jesus Christ, we can expect healing and deliverance. In the name of Jesus Christ, we can overcome difficulties and mental prisons. In our words and deeds, we can do all in the name of Jesus Christ and bring God’s supernatural power into life’s situations.

Just to say the name of Jesus Christ is not all that is necessary though; we must believe, be thoroughly convinced and confident, that our spoken words will come to pass. All power is energized by believing. It is believing that brings tremendous results when we use the name of Jesus Christ today.

Jesus did miraculous works because he was convinced of God’s will. He spoke God’s promises into existence with believing (Mark 6:34-44). We can be assured that God will bring His Word to pass as we believe and claim our delegated power in the name of Jesus Christ.

My husband and I have received answers to prayer in the name of Jesus Christ during situations that at first seemed impossible to us. We have used the name of Jesus Christ to free a friend from devil spirits that were holding him back from living a joyful life. We ourselves have been recipients of healing in the name of Jesus Christ, and we have in turn ministered healing to others in the name of Jesus Christ.

The name of Jesus Christ never runs out of power. We have the legal right to take advantage of God’s unlimited power as much and as often as we need it. As we believe, we can have great joy and power in life through the delivering name of Jesus Christ.

John 16:23,24:
…Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
