Ephesians 1:3:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
One of God’s most wonderful blessings that comes with being born again of His spirit is that we are not alone. We are now part of a body—the Body of Christ.
I Corinthians 12:13:
For by one Spirit [God] are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews [Judeans] or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
“Baptized into one body” and “have been all made to drink into one Spirit” refer to being born again and receiving God’s gift of holy spirit. Because there is only one gift, God’s people are one in the spirit. Each believer having God’s gift of holy spirit means that all believers are equipped with the same spiritual enablements; it unites God’s people. And though this Body of Christ is unified as one, it is made up of many members.
Romans 12:4,5:
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Each of us is an individual, yet God enabled His children to function together.
When we serve together, we have much to give:
We can pray together.
Romans 15:30:
Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me.
Together, we can speak the same Word with like-minded unity.
I Corinthians 1:10:
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
We can do the work of the Lord together.
I Corinthians 3:9:
For we are labourers together with God….
I Corinthians 15:58:
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Together, we can reconcile others to God.
II Corinthians 5:18-20:
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Because God so lovingly provided a Body for the born-again believers to function in, we are not alone on this earth. We can serve together. Whether it’s in prayer, speaking the same Word, doing the work of the Lord, or reconciling others to God, God’s people have so much to give to help others receive His blessings!
