Taking Victorious Action on God’s Word

Taking Victorious Action on God’s Word

God’s will for each believer to live victoriously is clearly stated by the Apostle Paul in the Church Epistles.

II Corinthians 2:14:
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Romans 8:37:
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

God’s will for us is victory. To claim victory in a situation in life, we first need to know what God makes available to us in that category of life. Then we can take believing action on His promises.

Going to God’s Word enables us to know the promises we can claim in order to live a victorious life. What is an example of a promise in God’s Word that we can claim? One is God’s promise of prosperity.

III John 2:
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health….

Throughout the Bible, God’s desire to prosper His people is evident.

Psalms 35:27:
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

Consider how victorious life can be for born-again believers when they understand how to claim just this one promise of God! And yet, the Word of God holds many more. So, how can we claim God’s promises in our lives?

One great key to experiencing the victorious living that God promises us is to take believing action on His Word. As the term suggests, “believing action” involves both believing and action. We believe what God promises in His Word. But we don’t just sit around and wait for the promise to come to pass. We take action, doing the best we know to do in a situation.

There was a time in my life when I needed more prosperity in my business. I knew God’s desire for me to prosper, but I needed to reassure myself of this truth. Here is the believing action I took: I got up in the morning and studied God’s Word to encourage my heart in His promises relating to my need. As I rejoiced in the Word of God, my heart was strengthened. Then I immediately took believing action on one specific promise of God that He would meet all of my needs.

Philippians 4:19:
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Instead of waiting around to see if this promise would come to pass, I did the best I knew to do in my situation to claim it. I had determined that other businesses like mine had plenty of work, so that morning I called three of my competitors and asked them if they had work I could do for them. This was an unusual request, but I was boldly claiming God’s promise of prosperity. Two companies called me back and were grateful for my help. Soon I had all the work and prosperity that I needed. In fact, looking back on that morning, most of my business was built on those phone calls. I am so thankful I took action on God’s promise to supply all my need, and I am so thankful to God Who always causes us to triumph in Christ.

Once we understand the Word of God, we can then take believing action on it to achieve victory. We know that God will back us up because it is His will for us to win in life—to be victorious in all situations. Our part is to consider the believing actions necessary to achieve victorious results. We can build our understanding of God’s will by studying the Scriptures to know what He makes available to us in our situation. Then, as we rejoice in all God has made available to us, we can take believing action on the Word. God surely will cause us to triumph and be more than conquerors in all of our challenges. What believing action step can you take right now?
